"Where is my Apostles order?" Latest news

Updated: Dec 3

Dear customers, l thank everyone of you who have done an order since my last blog. This is an update to tell you what is happening, so you can be at peace and so can l. l have done my Peace chocolate at last (my neglected youtube channel got a couple of videos of it) with the Ukraininan and Russian millet, and the Palestinian and Israeli medjool dates. Some of it is packed, ready to add to every one of your orders. l have now got a backlog of orders which include my Apostles chocolate selection, orders which have not been sent: all the others except orders from last Thursday and Friday, containing the festive prunes and the other products which are ready, have been sent. Apostles: what is happening?! (l got an email from a customer saying "where is my order" which was a bit stressful as l had not finished my ganaches at the time and l had to explain it wasn't ready yet, he said that was all right). l have done all my ganaches: all 20 different ganaches (indlucing the 4 for the fabric box) and l was very excited to taste some of the new ganaches which were so delicious l had to eat a lot of them myself. ( hope there is enough left for all my boxes) l particularly enjoyed the ginseng berries with fresh ginger and lemon zest liqueur (made into a ganache) the fresh bergamote ganache, and the almond and tonka bean praline, and then the licorice for the big boxes which is the best l have made so far. l also enjoyed the orange liqueur and garden blackcurrant ganache, and the limequat and wine berries ganache. And the fondants which are very nice, the strawberry and mint one which l haven't done before in one mixture, is interesting with the slight acidity from the strawberry (organic freeze-dried strawberry powder) and the peppermint flavour, but l didn't eat much of that because of homeopathy, mint is a naughty ingredient for homeopathy. . The other fondants were a swine to work with,(no swearing, but l cancelled a market l was going to at Lyde Court so l could work doing them late at night) but they are made into chocolates now, my favourite is the lavender and blackberry one, though the rose and dragon fruit is delicious. The violet one is ok but l am not fond of violet, though the blueberry powder makes it a lot better. The Penybont Spice cake is also very nice as usual, not too hot this time. l forgot to add the newly candied orange peel onto it when it came out of the oven so l have to add it when l am dipping it, which will be fun. The nougat is hard to cut as it is brittle so l will do that last (l haven't had a chance to put the nougat online yet, more needs packing - what to do first? Chocolates are more important, sorry), but it is still very nice as full of fruit and nuts. It will get there eventually , for you. So, l have only a week till the big Kington Food Fair event next Saturday 6th, and only this week to do my drawings, (slowly, ideas are coming, Bashar will be in there somewhere, this year), and do l miss my Tuesday homeopathy class like last week so l can work? My homeopath told the other students off for not having any questions last week and also told them off for not having done their homework, which l had done but was unable to share. ( we had to find out what some old diseases names from Hahnemann's time, were , it is very easy to do with search engines these days). Today, Sunday, my plan is: to get as many of the chocolates moulded or dipped and tidied into storage boxes. (l have only 14 varieties to make now, as 6 are already done) and l have to do a few chocolates for my landlord as he gives free chocolates with his fresh Christmas trees. (do come to get your tree, you will get a nice chat with him and you may come and see my kitchen full of chocolate). Tomorrow, my friend John is coming to help me so we will see what we can do, finishing the ones l won't have managed today or make the bars with leftover fondants/ganaches leftover. Wednesday l have to do my drawings, so l can go on Thursday to the community printing center in Leominster (fabulous place but they only open in the morning) to get them properly printed so they don't run if water vapour goes near them, (Barry's printer is an inkjet) and they don't rub off with the finger if they come out of my printer (which is very annoying, l apologise, Brother said they didn't want to repair my printer even though it is only a problem with the heating part in the printer which doesn't fix the ink well enough - but now none of those problems as l can go to the community center where they have real printing machines! and delightful service! l am thinking of volunteering but l don't really have the time, it must be fun to learn printing skills). Thursday afternoon and Friday as l have no market so l can pack boxes, as this is a long process. This all means for all of you all who are eagerly waiting, if you do not mind and l hope you don't, is that Monday will be when l will send your Apostles parcels. Any complaints, please send to my made-up secretary at this fake email address l add at the bottom of this blog. l have also, naughtily, started sprouting some sunflower seeds and seasoned them with curry powder with one lot, and fresh garlic and herbs for the other lot, and they went in the oven yesterday... l was so happy doing them because l would like to offer you the opportunity to try those unusual bars of chocolate, curry and sultanas in milk chocolate (no cumin in this), and the garlic and herbs in dark chocolate! Remember, if you want to add anything to your order, you can add and not pay extra postage by selecting "pick up at locam market or Croft farm", last option in the postage drop-down menu. l will TRY to get the nougat weights on there as well, when l can. Sorry, no new pictures for you, unless l go and take a few and add them to this blog later. Richard isn't there to take pictures for me (he was an amazing photographer but his wife won't let him near me, he isn't allowed to come and take pictures nor help sort out my website - l don't think he will read this, so it is safe to write it on here). Personally l can't be bothered with pretty pictures, l used to enjoy taking pictures in my 20's with a proper camera, but nowadays with all the social media glam and fakeness, l rather enjoy taking bad/mediocre pictures and using the "l can't be asked, if you don't know how good the quality is and need a nice picture to sell it to you, you can go and buy crap chocolates at some website which takes delicious looking pictures of mediocre products". Hum. Now l said that, maybe l will make an effort... l am very naughty, really, to rely on you knowing what you do know and sharing the chocolate with your friends and family. Thank you all for your patience! Happy and peaceful Sunday to all. Alexandra PS: l forgot to say, l had a few customers contact me with questions about the website or their order they could not place, and l have not heard anything back. l am wondering if my email has gone into their junk folder. Please check your junk folder, if you send me a question online. Or, you could always try texting my mobile number. PPS: Thank you Camille for giving me those Tonka beans which l didn't know about. They do go well with chocolate indeed.

Thank you for your comment. l didn't think of making it before, it is interesting to be seeking for ingredients, particularly from nations whose products are being black listed from European markets. You know the ones l mean.. l will not write the names or else l will get police at my door!
